Dear Leland Community,

As principal of Leland Schools, it is my pleasure to welcome you back for another great year in Leland. Hopefully, the summer provided you with many memorable opportunities to spend time with family and friends. I am extremely excited to have everyone back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with positive energy and enthusiasm for learning. I am eagerly looking forward to working with you all as we continue to develop our students to become lifelong learners. At Leland School we continue to be a TEAM of exceptionally talented and committed staff members that are all invested in making our school the best it can possibly be.

As partners in the educational process, we share the responsibility for each student’s success and want everyone to know that we do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support the learning environment by ensuring that each student:

  1. Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience.

  2. Completes homework assignments and tasks given by teachers.

  3. Reads daily to develop a love for reading and learning.

  4. Reads and reviews the parent/student handbook that can be found on the district website or in the main office.

  5. Monitors academic and social progress through your TeacherEase account.

Along with those responsibilities please be sure to keep track of important dates as the school year goes on. You can view the district calendar and be updated on all other important dates on our school website, or by following Leland Community Unit School District #1 on Facebook. My door is always open, and I want to hear from you. I hope everyone has a great school year, and as always, remember……EXCELLENCE HAS NO FINISH LINE!!!!
