Hello Kindergarten Parents!
I would like to welcome you all to Leland School and to the 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to have you join the Leland CUSD #1 community!
If you have not already done so, please make sure you take a minute and formally register your Kindergarten student on our student information system, Teacherease. Below are the steps to complete this online. Be sure to mark ‘register an existing student’ as the office staff has already added your child to our system from your pre-registration information.
Log in to your TeacherEase parent portal. (contact office staff if you do not have log-in information)
**If you feel you qualify for free/reduced lunches, fill out the online application FIRST. Click on MISCELLANEOUS at top of screen, click Free-Reduced Lunch Application. Continue to registration steps below.
Click the “Online Registration” link that appears on your Teacherease page. (This can also be found on the MISCELLANEOUS tab)
Check “continue registering existing student”. Click CONTINUE.
Click “complete form”. ALL QUESTIONS MARKED * ARE REQUIRED.
Fill out/confirm student information. Click NEXT.
Fill out/confirm family information. Mark the check box if can pickup. Click NEXT.
Fill out/confirm emergency information. Mark the check box if can pickup. Click NEXT.
Fill out/confirm miscellaneous information. Click SUBMIT.
When all students are completed, click VIEW FEES or the MISCELLANEOUS TAB at the top of the page to view fees. Click GENERAL or LUNCH to view each account balance.
You are now finished with the registration portion.
Before continuing to payment options, contact office staff if you filled out online free-reduced lunch application.
Once you have your student registered and your parent portal is running in TeacherEase you will be able to click on the Class tab to view who your student’s homeroom teacher is and you can communicate through teacherease with them.
Important documents such as health examination forms, student supply lists, and procedures for after school student pick up are located under the communications tab in the digital locker page. If your child is a bus rider you will be receiving a phone call from your child’s bus driver about a week before school starts. They will provide you with their contact information, approximate pickup/dropoff times and any other information you might need pertaining to the bus.
We are excited to have you and your child join the Panther team! As we start the school year be sure to mark your calendar with the following dates;
August 13th - Unpack your Backpack Night - 5:30PM-6:30PM - Come in and meet your teacher and get settled in before the first day of school.
August 15th - First Day of School - 8:00A.M. till 3:00P.M. - Students spend the first day of Kindergarten meeting the Leland Staff, getting to know the building and reviewing rules and procedures that are in place at school. We call them our PAWS LAWS.
September 5th - 1:00pm Dismissal - Teacher Institute
September 10th - K-3 Curriculum Night - 6:00P.M. - I will be discussing the K-3 curriculum, importance of homework, give an overview of the use of TeacherEase, and will introduce our new standards based grade reporting for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
