SECTION 00 10 00 - REQUEST FOR BIDS
Bids are requested by the Board of Education of Leland C.U.S.D. #1, Leland, Illinois 60531 for Exhaust Fan Replacement at Leland School. Work is to be carried out in accordance with Bidding Documents prepared by BCA Architects, Ltd., 620 West Lafayette Street, Ottawa, Illinois 61350.
Project Description: The work consists of removal and replacement of 15 rooftop exhaust fans/hood fans, installation of 6 individual classroom toilet room exhaust fans and associated curb adapters, control work, electrical work and testing/balancing at Leland School located at 370 North Main Street, Leland, Illinois 60531.
Contract Type: Single prime lump sum contract.
Submission of Bids: Bids will be accepted until 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the Leland C.U.S.D. #1 district offices at 370 North Main Street, Leland, Illinois 60531. Bids will be publicly opened at that time.
Mandatory Pre-bid Conference: Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 10:00 A.M., at Leland School at 370 North Main Street, Leland, Illinois 60531. Meet at southeast district office entrance to receive guidance to meeting room. Building will be available for viewing on this date. Additional visits will not be provided by Owner.
Availability of Bidding Documents: Bidding Documents will be available on and after Wednesday, February 16, 2022 and may be examined/obtained at the Architect's Plan Room at www.bca-architects.com; Greater Peoria Contractors and Supplier Association, 1811 West Altorfer Drive, Peoria, Illinois 61615; Illinois Valley Contractor's Association, 1120 First Street, LaSalle, Illinois 61301; Northern Illinois Building Contractors Association, 1111 S. Stipulations: Bidder will be required to provide Bid Security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid amount proposed, in the form of a certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Owner, or a Bid Bond.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract.
The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with all provisions of the acts of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois related to Wage Rates, Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Alcohol Use, Preference to Illinois Workmen, Fair Employment Practices Commission, and Equal Employment Opportunity.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a criminal background investigation for all employees involved in the project. The background investigation will consist of two parts, as follows:
Part 1: Completion of a “Uniform Conviction Information Act Name Inquiry” with the Illinois State Police for each employee.
Part 2: Completion of the “Criminal Background Certification” form included in Project Manual (Section 00 43 00) for each employee.
The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with the Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Act (Public Act 95-0635).
The successful Bidder shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). All Contractor's bonds shall include a provision as will guarantee the faithful performance of such prevailing wage clause as provided by this bid specification or contract.
No Illinois O.E. sales tax will be required for this work.

Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any irregularities in the Bidding, and to award contract in Owner's best interests.
