Important Survey: Hello Panther families - I hope you are enjoying your summer. With many unanswered questions still hanging over us, Leland CUSD #1 is committed to doing what is best for everyone. **6/1: Updated information regarding the playground area at Leland School.** Please read the attached message from Mrs. Moore: "Leland is in Region 2, which has entered Phase 3 of the reopening guidelines for Illinois. Because this includes parks and outdoor activities permitted for up to 10 people practicing social distancing, I mistakenly made the choice to post that our playground would be open. However, Governor Pritzker has specifically mandated that playgrounds remain closed until Phase 4. My apologies, and I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your understanding and compliance as we work together to follow the recommendations and guidelines for our shared health and safety." Please stay tuned for updates as they become available.

The “stay away” signs have been taken down from the school playground and ball field areas! However, please use common sense and your best judgement before using the equipment, if you are sick or have been recently exposed to someone that’s been running a fever or showing any other symptoms of illness, please do not use the equipment. You should still be following the recommended guidelines from the IDPH. As always, with our playground being on school property weapons, tobacco/other drugs, and alcohol are not allowed at any time! Please use care and respect on our grounds!

Hey Panther fans-just giving you an update! We have been very busy honoring our Seniors! Last weekend was a beautiful town wide parade, and this week we have been holding individual diploma ceremonies! Once all of our graduates receive their diplomas, we will be posting a video of their “graduation”. It’s sure to be FANTASTIC-be on the lookout for it! I felt it was important to honor our 8th grade graduates as they completed their elementary career and move on to high school! Just like our seniors, they have missed an important celebration of this milestone. The Senior Graduate Parade that was scheduled today is postponed until next Sunday, May 24-2pm due to the weather. The parade route will remain the same. We truly want to honor these graduates, so please plan accordingly to celebrate them as they drive through town NEXT SUNDAY.
